American players wait no longer. Riot Games announced Tuesday that the long awaited mobile game, League of Legends: Wild Rift, will release its Open Beta to the Americas on March 29.

Players in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Peru will have an opportunity to join the rest of the world in playing Riot’s hit game on their smartphones after various regions across the world have been playing the game in open beta. Users of both iOS and Android will have access to the games’ beta testing.

The wildly popular game has already made waves in Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia, with European players entering the craze in December. Fans in North America have been antsy to get into the action and now will finally have a chance to play.

The announcement also follows Riot Games’ statement on Monday that an Americas Server will be added to handle the capacity of the player base. However, they also provided a FAQ for those attempting to log on for the first time and recommend players turn off any VPNs to ensure a smoother playing quality (we highly recommend reading this document if you are attempting to join open beta on the 29th).

League of Legends: Wild Rift brings the hit desktop game to the mobile scene. Employing a colorful roster featuring fifty of League’s popular champions including Lee Sin, Graves, Katarina and Ahri, Wild Rift makes playing League of Legends on-the-go much simpler. While there is no official announcement on when the beta will close, fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the general release of the game.
