Valorant Watching Guide: HUD Explained

Riot Games’ FPS title Valorant has gone crazy and became one of the most popular titles in the world since its release. Every single day, new faces join the party and give the game a try. Some of them like what they’re experiencing and stick with the title while others don’t see Valorant as worthy of their time. On the other hand, there are countless people who want to watch Valorant tournament games but have no idea what’s going on.

Valorant is a little bit different from traditional FPS games with the abilities it contains, and that causes some complications in understanding. In this guide, I’ll explain the symbols in the match screen to remove those obscurities. You’re going to have an idea at the end of this guide on what’s going on in the game, even if you don’t play the game regularly.

It’s a little bit confusing, right? There are so many things on the screen, and it’s really hard to figure out the meanings of them. However, there is no need to worry as we will examine every one of them step by step. Let’s start.

This is the part where teams’ and players’ names are shown alongside pictures of agents that players are playing and their stats. On the top of the board, there are “Combat”, “K”, “D” and “A” symbols.

  • Combat: Combat Score – Shows the total damage that player dealt in the game. In Valorant, players are sorted in the scoreboard based on their combat score.
  • K: Kill number of the player
  • D: Death number of the player
  • A: Assist number of the player

When you want to learn the score of the game and series, this is the location you should look at. There are the teams’ names, logos and scores. Also the timer, number of rounds and the triangle that shows which team is on the attack side take place here. Those tiny circles showcase the series points.

If I say this is the most important thing on the screen, it wouldn’t be a lie. As every FPS viewer can guess, it’s the map that shows the players’ locations and abilities that are used. Those red and green lines are the indication of players’ lines of sights.

“Where’s the money, Lebowski?” Chill man, here it is. Here, you can see how much money the team has in the beginning of a round and also their loadout value and spendings in a round. Let me tell you something: this part is not as important.

You have been blessed with my insane photoshop skills, which I had to activate to explain this display clearly.

  • Yellow Arrow: As you may have heard, Valorant has abilities as well as ultimates. These shapes showcase the ultimate points that players have. When it is full with red slides, that means players can use their ultimates.
  • Red Arrow: Abilities of agents are shown in this part. We can see how many skills players purchased from here.
  • Blue Arrow: The spot where we see player armor numbers.
  • Pink Arrow: How much money players have and spent, which weapons they bought.

I hope the HUD screen has become more understandable by the end of this article!
