Valkyrae and CouRage become Co-Owners of 100 Thieves

Premier esports organization 100 Thieves made headlines last week in what will surely go down as one of the most notable developments in 2021 esports.

Streamer Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter has become a co-owner of 100 Thieves alongside fellow new co-owner Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, the organization announced Wednesday.

Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag explains in the announcement video, “this is probably the most important day in 100 Thieves history.” This is a fitting sentiment considering Valkyrae and CouRage have become synonymous with the 100T brand and are poised to usher it into the future.

In their new roles, they’ll be more involved in 100 Thieves’ business strategy, including “helping identify and bring on new talent, building new programs and other initiatives,” according to a press release. They’ll both continue to make content as well.

Last year’s Content Creator of the Year Valkyrae as well as her teammate CouRage have been pillars of the 100 Thieves’ monstrous growth over the past three years.

Valkyrae joined the fray in November 2018 during the org’s infancy and has since become one of the biggest streamers in the world. Her meteoric rise saw a breakout year in 2020 and she currently stands as the most viewed female streamer, nearly doubling the amount of views of second place, Pokimane.

CouRage became a household name in gaming in May 2019 when he joined 100 Thieves as the third roommate to Valkyrae and longtime friend and founder Nadeshot. Together, the trio have become staples of  the organization’s content, positioning 100 Thieves as a dominating force in the esports industry.

Now, the three look to take the team to even greater heights as owners of the 100 Thieves brand.

The organization was co-founded in November 2017 by Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag and Cleveland Cavaliers owner, Dan Gilbert. In 2018, rap superstar Drake and music industry talent manager Scooter Braun invested in the team, becoming part owners as well. With the addition of Valkyrae and CouRage to the ownership group, the org will continue to make history for years to come.
