Formed in 2019, UK-based Tundra esports gained fame in FIFA, acquiring and performing with top talent across the board. With 2021, the organization has stepped into competitive Dota with the acquisition of the erstwhile team, mudgolems.
mudgolems was formed in September 2020 and had achieved impressive standings across tier-one and tier-two tournaments. In early January 2021, Duško “BoraNija” Boranijaševic and Milan “MiLAN” Kozomara — the team’s position 2 and position 4 players — had left the team to be replaced by Leon “Nine” Kirilin and Malthe “Biver” Winther.
Since then, mudgolems has managed to snatch a third-place finish at the DreamLeague Season 14 DPC EU Decider Tournament, earning a place in the Upper Division. Their performance didn’t go unnoticed as Tundra quickly signed the roster in their name.
“This squad has been turning heads with their recent form… Adrian ‘Fata’ Trinks led the team to a third/fourth-place finish and earned their spot in the Upper Division where we will face the likes of Team Liquid, OG, Team Secret,” Tundra’s blogpost stated. “We strongly believe in the potential of this team to become one of Europe’s elite teams. Our goals are extremely high. Leading from the front will be Adrian ‘Fata’ Trinks, [with his] wealth of experience such as making it to The International for the last seven years straight.”
With the second week of the DPC 2021 matches already underway, only time will tell what the new tag will do for the former mudgolems squad.
