Resident Evil: Village director surprised by Lady Dimitrescu reaction from fans

Developers of video games are usually pretty aware of how fans are going to react to the trailers of their games, but for Resident Evil: Village, this was not the case. The art director for Resident Evil: Village, Tomonori Takano, was surprised but not at all disappointed by fans’ response to Lady Dimitrescu.

In terms of fan reaction, this is what he had to say. “I don’t think anyone (on the team) could have predicted how wonderfully fans have reacted to Lady Dimitrescu. Personally, I was particularly struck by comments like, ‘I want to be chased by her.’”

Takano also talked a little bit about the construction of the game’s trailer. “The very first piece of concept art I drew was the scene in the trailer where Lady Dimitrescu ducks down to walk through the doorway. From that moment, I knew I had to do that scene.”

The video game community is a strange place. Having fans have a crush on a major villain in an upcoming game honestly doesn’t surprise me. Why wouldn’t they? We gamers are a strange breed and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

So, what do you guys think? Is it crazy that fans have a soft spot in their heart for this scary villain, or is it just another day in the gaming world?

Be sure to check out the trailer if you have not already and make sure to get hyped up for this game. It is going to be a masterpiece.
