One of the most successful teams in Dota 2’s history, OG, expanded its repertoire by entering the Valorant scene. The European powerhouse has announced it acquired Monkey Business’ roster and joined the battle in Riot Games’ FPS title.
The announcement has been made on OG’s Twitter account: “Together, apes are much stronger. Time to unveil the world’s best protected secret. Monkey Business is coming home baby! Very proud to be introducing OG VALORANT.” OG also shared a video in which the roster’s captain, Dylan “aKm” Bignet, introduces his teammates.
OG was established in 2015, has competed in Dota 2 only since the end of 2019 when it created a new CS:GO team and entered the scene. Even though OG’s CS:GO team needs some time to join among the bests, its Dota 2 division has been legendary. Starting from 2015, OG has managed to win four major tournaments alongside two Internationals.
Co-owners and founders of OG Esports, Sebastien “Ceb” Debs and Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, shared their thoughts about the acquisition: “We’ve heard a lot about the game, and were seduced by the idea behind it as well as how serious the ecosystem is already. When the opportunity to get involved with a roster that you like and you believe in arises, you sometimes just have to grab it. It was the same with CS:GO, sometimes the stars align and you have an opportunity to do something really interesting.”
Monkey Business’ history wasn’t long since it made its debut in the Red Bull Home Ground tournament last month. However, it looked promising in the game against SUMN FC, which is competing as Fnatic right now and attracted attention from fans.
Current OG Valorant roster is:
- Dylan “aKm” Bignet
- Benjamin “uNKOE” Chevasson
- Kevin “TviQ” Lindström
- Dragan “elllement” Milanovic
- Theo “OniBy” Tarlier
- Julien “daemoN” Ducros (Coach and manager)
