Na’Vi Defeats Astralis In The Grand Final Of BLAST Premier: Global Final

After a long competition period, BLAST Premier has found its champion with the Global Final 2020. The tournament, in which eight top teams in the world faced each other, was played between Jan. 19-24. The participants were determined by BLAST events held throughout 2020. In the end, Russia representative Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) lifted the trophy of the $1 million prize pool tournament.

BLAST Premier: Global Final 2020 contained a playoff bracket only in which teams competed with each other using best-of-three series to obtain glory. G2 Esports, Astralis, FURIA Esports, Complexity, Team Vitality, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and Natus Vincere were among the participants.

It was a tiny miracle when Na’Vi managed to win BLAST Premier as it had to make a comeback from the lower bracket. In the first round of the event, S1mple and his friends were defeated by Team Liquid 2-0 and fell down in the bracket. However, the Russian giant had no intention of being eliminated, beating Complexity, G2 Esports, Team Liquid and Vitality in the lower bracket to make its way to the Grand Final.

Na’Vi’s opponent in the final was the end game boss, Astralis. The series began in Nuke, one of the maps that Astralis had strong confidence in, as the Russian side’s pick. One thing was clear: S1mple was adamant on winning the tournament after the long journey.  Following the well-performed T side, Na’Vi managed to close out the first map and took the advantage with 1-0.

Inferno, the second map of the series, was all the Natus Vincere show. Showing no mercy, the squad literally crushed Astralis with a balanced team performance. The Danish giant was able to grab five rounds only, and this wasn’t enough to reach the cup. Na’Vi defeated Astralis with 2-0, winning the first big tournament of 2021 alongside a $600,000 reward. The player of the match was determined as S1mple, finishing the grand final with a 1.57 rating and 103.9 ADR.
