McDonald’s and FaZe Clan Collaborate to Foster Diversity, Inclusion

America’s history is the fight for racial equity. The founding fathers penned the phrase “all men are created equal” as a front for a brutal, exploitative system of slave labor. Though we believe slavery to have been abolished via the 13th Amendment, the prison system continued the dehumanization of the most vulnerable among us. The Black Codes gave way to Jim Crow laws and created a national criminal undercaste of unjustly depersonalized felons who lack rights, resources, and representation. Intergenerational racial trauma ravages the American socioeconomic landscape, and we crave like an electric boon the day we can right the wrongs of our ancestors.

That day might come a bit sooner thanks to FaZe Clan and McDonald’s.

Recently, the fine folks at FaZe Clan have been handing out partnerships like hotcakes; this endeavor will be the latest in a series of successful collaborations with Totino’s, Takashi Murakami, and even Seth Rogen. The other joint ventures sought to both strengthen the brand and contribute to the greater good, and this one seems primed to do the same.

While chomping down on good ol’ fashioned McDonald’s burgers and fries, some of the FaZe boys— FaZe Rug, FaZe Adapt, FaZe Swagg, and Nuke Squad— will recount their diverse stories and tackle the gaming industry’s racial pressure. By portraying a firsthand account, FaZe and McDonalds seek to use their powerhouse social positioning to raise awareness and foment lasting change.

“At FaZe, we continue to move diversity and inclusion to the forefront of our priorities and are proud to partner with an iconic brand like McDonald’s who has paved the way,” says FaZe Clan CEO Lee Trink. “This is another example of FaZe expanding our brand beyond the gaming realm and we hope our fans enjoy the content that comes from this groundbreaking partnership.”
