Invictus Gaming Takes Down EDward Gaming in Most Important Win of the Season

Invictus Gaming posted questionable performances in the first half of the 2021 LPL Spring Split. Today, IG faced the most successful team in LPL until now. EDward Gaming was the favorite before the game, but IG managed to upset its opponent without dropping a game.

Game 1

Both junglers faced each other in the bottom lane in a 3v3 skirmish. EDG’s Viper secured the first blood and got his team ahead in the early phase, then EDG increased the gap with Scout’s map movements. Invictus Gaming answered its opponent’s moves by winning skirmishes and securing drakes. Fights were so close until IG secured the Baron buff. Invictus Gaming used the buff until the last second and increased the gold gap by 5k. TheShy and his friends demolished EDG’s Nexus in 31 minutes.

Game 2

EDG had a phenomenal start to the game. IG tried to dive into the bottom lane with TP’s, but EDG’s answer was on point. After this play, EDG secured five kills and only dropped one. However, Invictus Gaming stayed in the game and used its composition, which was great for team fights. Puff stepped up for his team with massive Samira ults. Viper looked like the only player who hadn’t fallen behind on the EDG side, but his Ezreal was useless in team fights. IG found the correct fights and closed out the game in 41 minutes.

EDG lost its first game of the season, and from now on, there are no undefeated teams in the league. With this win, IG got closer to the playoff bracket so the competition is going to be a lot better than before.
