G2 Esports Adds Ozzy, Benches zeek from its Valorant Roster

Recent failures forced one of Europe’s powerhouses to make a change in its roster. G2 Esports announced that it picked up the British Player Oscar “ozzy” Scott as a stand-in in-game-leader role. Ozzy will take zeek’s place during Valorant Champions Tour Stage 2’s open qualifiers.

“Ozzy will be standing in for zeek during our next  VCT Open Qualifier games. He’ll be joining us as IGL during our Berlin bootcamp. Show him some love G2 Army and see you in Iceland,” G2 said on Twitter.

After championships in the early stage of Valorant, things haven’t gone well for G2 Esports recently. The first unexpected result came in First Strike: Europe where G2 finished the tournament in fourth place, which was a surprising outcome to everybody. Following the disappointing result, the European team went for a roster change, instantly benching Davidp and acquiring zeek from nolpenki; however, this wasn’t enough to stop the downfall. G2 Esports wasn’t able to qualify for VCT 2021 Stage 1: Masters 1 afterward, then got eliminated from Stage 2: Challengers 1 qualifiers most recently.

Most people have been thinking that lack of an in-game leader is the problem of G2 Esports, and now it will try to fix that with Ozzy. The 22-year-old player started his career in CS:GO in 2016. After competing for four years in the same field, he decided to move into Valorant. He was playing for HSDIRR lastly.

With the latest move, G2 Esports Valorant is looking like this:

  • Óscar Cañellas “Mixwell” Colocho
  • Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski
  • Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi
  • Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks
  • Oscar “Ozzy” Scott
  • Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt (bench)
  • Neil “neilzinho” Finlay (coach)
