With the end of Masters Reykjavik, teams have begun to build their rosters for success in VCT 2021 Stage 3. After announcing the departure of Patitek, ardiis and zeek, G2 Esports unveiled its three new Valorant players through its socials. Auni “AvovA” Chahade, Žygimantas “Nukkye” Chmieliauskas and Jose Luis “Koldamenta” Aranguren will compete under the banner of G2 Esports from now on.
The European powerhouse revealed the transfer moves with a video clip in which Carlos, the CEO, is portrayed as a comic book figure and goes on a meditation trip to find who he’s getting next for the roster. After that, frag clips of AvovA, Nukkye and Koldamenta are displayed in the clip.
“After not qualifying for the Valorant Masters in Iceland, we knew we needed to take the team in a new direction,” the team said in the statement. “We’re not looking to be on the sidelines, we’re looking to be the best. With these changes, we’re ready to take on the next challenge and win Valorant Masters 3 in our home city of Berlin.”
The team manager, Maikturtle, also shared his thoughts: “I’m very excited to have Nukkye, AvovA and Koldamenta on the team. They bring a lot of experience, spirit and firepower, and I know that they’ll excel in this new project.”
AvovA and Nukkye were a former duo of Team Heretics. They’ve been playing together since October, and they helped Heretics win First Strike Europe in December. Despite not being able to qualify for Masters 2, Team Heretics was considered one of the best teams in Europe, and Nukkye played a huge role alongside AvovA.
G2 added another champion to its roster by picking up Koldamenta from Acend. The Spanish player had been a part of Acend’s roster since January, and he reached the trophy in Masters 1 with his old team.
Fans won’t have to wait so long to see the new roster in action. G2 Esports will compete in LVP Rising Series 2 Open Qualifiers on June 5.
