Just because most people are only talking about the release of the PS5 and the new Xbox consoles doesn’t mean that there are not more consoles coming out. Bud Light put their hat in the ring with a marketing campaign that you have to see to believe.
Even as a beer lover myself, I have to admit I was absolutely flabbergasted when I saw that Bud Light was releasing some sort of gaming console. I was relieved to find out later that this won’t be a gaming console intended to compete with the XBOX or PlayStation. Bud Light did this their own way, and I have to respect it.
The console is called the BL6, which according to esports figure Will Greenwald is a “Windows 10 PC equipped with an Intel i7-1065G7 CPU and 16GB of RAM, with a built-in projector, all packed into a big blue case designed to look like a Bud Light six-pack.” I have to be honest, on first read I had no idea what any of that meant so I have to assume that some of you guys will be confused as well. Basically put, the device is actually a solid PC system to game on, and it also has a built-in projector and a place to hold your beer.
Pretty much my dream gaming system if you ask me. Imagine playing some video on the big screen with the built-in projector and then being able to drink a cold beer without having to go to the fridge. I’m sold; count me in.
This is not the first time Bud Light has tried to get into the gaming world. Check out my article I wrote a couple months ago about “The Bud Knight,” a Bud Light Esports mascot. Bud Light plans to sell a small number of these consoles for charity on ShopBeerGear.com, so if this sounds like something you might be really interested in, make sure to check it out. I am sure these bad boys will go quick.
