In terms of audio, this game is absolutely idyllic. The general theme song is bouncy and keeps you moving forward through the levels of the map. The devil is in the details, particularly in the little squelches of sound that occur with every movement you make. Every audio detail is crafted to perfectly embody the movement and action it represents. If you were to just listen to an audio recording of a playthrough of Baba Is You, you’d probably think it was a fairly simple soundtrack. When you play through and hear it all in real time, it becomes obvious very quickly that every beat is perfectly suited to this game.

3 - Story/Progression

5/5

When it comes to the story and progression of Baba Is You, the increase in difficulty is timed perfectly. Just as you start to really get the hang of things, a curveball’s thrown your way, and you have to look at the puzzle from a new direction. There are plenty of easier levels throughout the game to give your brain a little break, and then there are levels you’ll work at over and over again. There are levels you’ll breeze through in less than five moves, and there are levels that’ll look easy at first, but end up being some of the most challenging. From the moment you first embody Baba, this game progresses forward at a perfectly challenging pace.
